Youth Sailing
Llandegfedd Sailing Club has a long history of promoting Youth Sailing. Through our training courses and race development, we nurture young sailors to develop their skills and self-sufficiency. Many of them have gone on to represent the club in races around the UK and sometimes the world. Each year we have been delighted to see a selection of our racers selected for the Welsh Squad racing teams.
Many of our junior sailors also go on to train as Assistant Instructors, drive the safety boats and then become full Dinghy Instructors. As well as a chance to give back to the club by helping to train the next group of juniors, these qualifications can lead to a valuable holiday or gap year job. |

LLSC is run fully by volunteers who take roles on the committee to ensure the smooth running of the club. All our training courses and coaching sessions are also run by volunteers who have the relevant qualifications and experience to enable our junior club to thrive as it does.
Our junior members use Toppers almost exclusively as their boat of choice. The club has a good selection of Toppers available for training sessions and for use by junior members once signed off by the Chief Instructor.
We also have some club Fevas to introduce double handed sailing and older juniors go on to sail other craft such as 29ers or Lasers (we have 2 lasers with a choice of 3 rig sizes as club boats).
