Racing at Llandegfedd Sailing Club

Racing is at the heart of our club.

Llandegfedd is one of the largest inland waters in the UK, its size and depth allows us to set great courses to suit all conditions. It is an ideal venue for club and Championship racing and the club has a reputation for producing very talented sailors.

Members of all ages and experience can take part in races using a variety of boats. The  discipline of racing provides a unique framework for the development of sailing and tactical skills as well as a means of measuring improvement. If you want the formal details, we have a generic Club Racing Notice of Race, and LLSC Sailing Instructions

There is a page summarising how we race at Llandegfedd. This might help those who have raced at other places, It provides links to the specific pages on the details. Start Racing at Llandegfedd.

As your sailing skills develop we will guide you into into joining your first race.  Members and organisers will be keen to show you how to take part. They will be keen to provide help and mentoring so  you  have the opportunity to develop into a competitive sailor.

There is always a safety boat with a trained crew on the water when we are racing. There is guidance on the way races are organised Race Starts

The club organises a number of competitions during the season and prizes are awarded at the end of the year.
